What a great day we had at the Leamington Business Show last week! The sun was shining, skies were blue (a godsend after the gales and showers in the week!), but it was bloomin’ freezing as we turned up early to get set up for the day.
A very welcome cup of tea and bacon bap (provided by wonderful caterers, Aubrey Allen) helped to boost energy as we got ready for the day’s activity. Pitching next to June Irani of Lifestyle Investments, we found we were the only two innovative exhibitors to have chosen easels for our display rather than pop-up stands – and they had delicious shortbread biscuits to keep us going through the day!
We had such positive feedback throughout the day about our stand and fantastic brand (shameless plug!) – and the Spun Candy sweets of course! We knew we were onto a good thing when designers came up and told us, unprompted, how amazing it was, how fresh and different – praise indeed!
We were busy all day, networking and making lots of great connections – with the launch of our Introducers Network, we were able to connect with many of the professionals and client-focused businesses exhibiting and visiting the show. Our colleagues at MKV Solicitors took time out of their busy day to come and see us – they were very impressed with the show and may be joining the Business Forum very soon! We caught up with Julie Richardson of Alsters Kelly and met a few of the team, connected with Blythe Liggins (lovely to meet Claire Kirwan) and David, Alan and Poonam at David Lee Solicitors. Great to meet accountants, Harrison Beale & Owen and Dafferns LLP as well as re-connect with Gurpal and team at Burgis & Bullock. Lots to talk about, lunches to organise and referrals to set up.
And on the HR side, some really great synergy, referrals and opportunities to be followed up with Angela Roberts HR Consultancy and Lucy at Hartwell HR.
Looking after our own interests, and those of our clients, we look forward to working with Keith at WPA Healthcare and William at WA Management, focusing on health and safety and management systems. With recruitment being a hot topic for us (see our Opportunities page), we were pleased to hook up with Traci Thompson of Tri Recruitment Services and Alex and colleagues at Apex Recruitment.
And finally, helping us to get the best out of the day was Monsoons Estates amazing coffee and all the wonderful treats and sweets on offer around the show! Thanks, Jonathan, for making it an even better show than last year – here’s to the next one!
